scottish borders asn parent carer forum
As part of our dedicated efforts to supporting families with ASN children, Borders Additional Needs Groups are working in collaboration with Meeting of Minds to engage, include, inform and support Parent Carers to produce the best possible outcomes for their children and their families.
Scottish Borders Parent Carer Forum is intended to be a group of parents and carers of Additional Support Needs (ASN) children who will work with and provide insight on lived experiences to local authorities, education, health and other providers to ensure the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of disabled children and their families. This forum will be the regional representative of Parents in Scottish Borders and will seek to develop the membership of locality Parent Forums within the Scottish Borders, to represent the voice of parent carers.
We will work with local authorities, education, health, and wider Third Sector to ensure service, plan and delivery meet the needs of disabled children and their families. We aim to work in co-production with statutory services and partners.
Scottish Borders Parent Carer Forum seeks to represent the voices of parent carers of children who have special needs and disabilities from the ages of 0 to 21. As a group of parent carer representatives, we work in co-production and partnership to bring the lived experience and knowledge to the decision-making process that impacts children throughout the Scottish Borders.
This project is currently in its early stages and we are formalising a governance structure and we are due to launch in early 2020. Please get in touch for further information:
